Our success relies on the incredible efforts of our dedicated volunteers who help us grow, harvest, and pack the veg bags that nourish our community. Teign Greens simply wouldn’t work without YOU!

We’re always keen to welcome new volunteers to our team and there are lots of ways you can get involved and make a difference.

No prior experience is necessary, and we welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Your enthusiasm and willingness to help are what matter most!

What does volunteering involve?

Every day is different and there’s activities to suit whatever you’re interested in- typical activities might include:

  • Growing: Help us plant seeds, weed beds and tend to our crops.

  • Harvesting: Help pick tomatoes or dig up leeks

  • Packing: Pack our veg into bags ready to heading out to local households and community projects

  • Maintenance: Help us put up polytunnels and build compost heaps

Volunteering FAQs

  • We're located between Higher and Lower Ashton, our postcode is EX6 7QW. When you get here just come up the track. If you have a car, park up at the top and you'll see the metal gate of the packing shed directly on the right, which is where you'll find us! Find us on Google Maps

  • Depending on the weather, please bring your own warm layers, stout boots or wellies, waterproofs, sun hat and sun cream as needed. Please bring your own gardening gloves if possible, we have some but they are a bit mis-matched!

  • If you can, please look at our Health and Safety for Volunteers information on our website here. We'll ask you to sign a form on the day to check you've read and understood everything - we just want to keep you safe and ensure you enjoy your time with us!
